Protecting Yourself from Medicare Fraud, Abuse & Identity Theft
Medicare fraud happens when someone intentionally uses your Medicare number to bill Medicare for services or equipment you didn’t get or didn’t need. The culprit could be a care provider, a scam artist who got your patient identification number through a sham clinic, or an employee with access to your records. And it costs the government billions of dollars each year.
What can you do? Marti Hearn from the Area Agency on Aging SHINE program (Serving Health Insurance Needs of the Elderly) will review what to look out for and how to protect yourself from this ever increasing form of fraud including the latest; Genetic Testing scam as it is costing Medicare billions of dollars and Seniors health benefits are compromised as well as their identities!
